PHOTOS OF DANSE A LAGRASSE 2018
As they say, photos are worth a thousand words. We hope you enjoy our photographic gallery of Danse à Lagrasse 2018 staged by Muse à Muse.
It was a magical evening of classical and contemporary dance in Lagrasse, SW France, with guest dancers and musicians from the Royal Ballet, Covent Garden, London. Performing in Danse à Lagrasse 2018 were:
Dancers: Matthew Ball, Claire Calvert, Alexander Campbell, Yuhui Choe, Reece Clarke, Lauren Cuthbertson, Francesca Hayward, Tierney Heap, Fumi Kaneko, Nehemiah Kish, Philip Mosley, Yasmine Naghdi, Calvin Richardson, Marcelino Sambé, Beatriz Stix-Brunell and David Yudes.
Musicians: Robert Clark, Kate Shipway and Vasko Vassilev.
Works by some of the great choreographers - Frederick Ashton, Kenneth MacMillan, Marius Petipa, Christopher Wheeldon and Wayne McGregor - were included in the evening along with Mikhail Fokine’s classic solo, The Dying Swan, made famous by the great Anna Pavlova. which Calvin Richardson danced in his modern version of the solo. We repeated one or two pieces from when we staged Danse à Lagrasse in 2010, such as Frederick Ashton’s Meditation from Thais and Kenneth MacMillan’s Romeo and Juliet Balcony Pas de deux, along with excerpts from his Elite Syncopations which many people requested we perform again.
Our programme of workshops led by David Pickering were a great success once again and attended by ballet enthusiasts of all ages and levels.
